Kristen Tollini, Regional Director, Member Services
Kristen Tollini is a PinnacleCare Advocate based in Baltimore, Maryland. As a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Kristen provides attentive services and support to her Members. Her extensive experience in the mental health field has resulted in a compassionate and highly motivated advocate, who strives to provide the best medical assistance for her Members.
Kristen graduated from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She went on to pursue her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Towson State University, Towson, Maryland. As she was obtaining her degree, Kristen worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore. At the hospital she provided direct patient care for children and adolescents. Her responsibilities ranged from overseeing new counselors to organizing and leading group therapy, art therapy and recreational activities.
From there she worked on obtaining her license and worked as a Family Support Counselor for the Epilepsy Foundation of the Chesapeake Region. She assisted the families of children with developmental disabilities connect to the appropriate resources for medical, financial and emotional support. Kristen established solid relationships with outside agencies to ensure quality care. In addition, she provided advocacy services for her clients at Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings. She went on to work as a Clinical Supervisor and Mental Health Therapist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and later did community-based therapy through the Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore. As a Clinical Supervisor she conducted intakes, coordinated transportation, supervised clinical staff and worked with a multi-disciplinary team to help coordinate patients’ healthcare needs. Kristen, also lead individual, group and family psychotherapy sessions.
In addition to her role as a therapist, Kristen assisted in research studies through Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Immunization Research. She worked on an inpatient study for one of the strains of the Avian Bird Flu Vaccine (H5N9) and a childhood vaccine study for Para-influenza.
Kristen is an active volunteer for Art with a Heart, Inc., a non-profit organization, based in Baltimore, Maryland, which provides interactive, hands-on art activities to disadvantaged families and children. When she is not helping her Members or volunteering she can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Matt and their dog, Grace.
