Dr. Castellano joined the Emory faculty in 1990 and has developed a reputation for balancing administrative skill with an active clinical practice focusing on preventative women’s health and management of menopause. She completed her medical education at Emory University, receiving her cum laude medical degree in 1985. Dr. Castellano remained at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals to complete her residency and fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1989.

She has served on a variety of boards and committees within the Emory Healthcare system. From 1997-2001, she served on the Board of Directors for the Foundation of Medically Fragile Children. Since 2002, she has been an Honorary Board Member of the organization. Dr. Castellano is also a member of several professional societies including: American College of Onstetricians and Gynecologists, Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American College of Physician Executives and Women’s Health Research Coalition.

Dr. Castellano is an accomplished speaker who has lectured on a variety of women’s health topics around the country. Recently, she completed a project to produce interactive CD-Roms for patient education in menopause medicine. Dr. Castellano also teaches medical students and residents at Emory, and enjoys developing methods to enhance patient education.
