Dr. Roger Widmann serves as the Chief of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and the Co-Chief of the Limb-Lengthening service for the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery. He is also the Director of Pediatric Orthopedic Trauma at New York Hospital and a member of the Scoliosis Service at Hospital for Special Surgery. Additionally, he is an Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Widmann is considered to have special expertise in pediatric orthopedic surgery, scoliosis, hip dysplasia, pediatric orthopedic trauma and pediatric limb-lengthening.

Dr. Widmann received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine and then went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. He then did his fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Widmann has been awarded the Donjoy Prize for M.D. thesis from the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, the Kilfoyle Award for best resident/fellow paper at New England Orthopedic Society and the Louis A. Goldstein Award for the best Clinical Poster presentation at the Scoliosis Research Society Annual Meeting. Dr. Widmann is a member of the following professional organizations: American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Medical Association.
