Dr. Sherrell Aston is the Surgeon Director and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York where more cosmetic surgery procedures are performed each year than any other institution in the world. Dr. Aston is considered one of the foremost international experts in aesthetic plastic surgery.

His major research interests are facial anatomy in aesthetic surgery and techniques for improving surgical results.

Dr. Aston is renowned for his development of the FAME (finger-assisted malar elevation) technique for facelifts, which repositions not only the skin, but also the soft tissue of the face to give a youthful but non operated appearance.

After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Aston was a Halsted Fellow in Surgery at John Hopkins Hospital. Next, he became Chief Resident at UCLA and then continued his training as a Plastic Surgery Resident and Chief Resident at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Aston has been recognized with numerous awards and honors. Some from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery include: The Walter Scott Brown Award, The Simon Fredricks Award and Best Scientific Exhibit Award. The Sherrell J. Aston Award was established by one of Dr. Aston’s graduated trainees for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and is awarded annually to the best research paper presented by a Resident or Fellow at the annual American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery conference.

Dr. Aston is the past president of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, Sociedade Brasileira De Cirurgia Plastica, International Society of Asthetic Plastic Surgery, American Association of Plastic Surgeons and a number of other organizations. Dr. Aston is an internationally renowned teacher of aesthetic surgery and has performed live surgical procedures in other countries including: Brazil, China, Iran, Spain and Turkey. Dr. Aston organizes an annual aesthetic surgery symposium in New York that is attended by several hundred plastic surgeons from more than fifty countries. He has authored or co-authored many original journal articles and book chapters and has made dozens of teaching video tapes on various aesthetic procedures.
