One of our Members purchased an Extended Family Membership for his parents-in-law, neither of whom had experienced any life threatening health issues in their 80 + years of life. The new Members met with their PinnacleCare Advocate who quickly ascertained that the couple was indeed quite healthy for their age! As the relationship between the Members and their PinnacleCare Advocate grew closer, they found themselves frequently relying on their PinnacleCare Advocate for support and assistance. Emergency Care

A PinnacleCare Advocate, who lives in Chicago, and has a life-long interest in meteorology, was keeping tabs on Hurricane Frances, then thousands of miles (and days) away from Florida. She knew two of her PinnacleCare Members, an elderly couple who live in southeast Florida, would surely be evacuated when the hurricane made landfall and could not leave their home without proper planning and assistance, due to their healthcare needs. She immediately began arranging 24/7 care with their nursing service, selecting the nurses who would evacuate with the couple, and who would promise to stay by their side through the duration of the hurricane and its aftermath. In addition, she ensured the elderly couple had ample supplies of medication throughout the relocation. While the couple’s son, who had purchased a Membership for his parents, and other family members all provided invaluable emotional support, the PinnacleCare Advocate's medical expertise and relationship with the nursing agency ensured that their health needs would be taken care of throughout the arduous process. Her proactive work not only alleviated the Members' stress, but also provided peace of mind for the rest of the family, who were very grateful for her efforts.
