Dr. Penny Castellano currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Operations at Emory Clinic and is Associate Professor and Division Director of Primary Care Gynecology and Obstetrics, Emory University School of Medicine, in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Castellano joined the Emory faculty in 1990 and has developed a reputation for balancing administrative skill with an active clinical practice focusing on preventative women’s health and management of menopause.She completed her medical education at Emory University, receiving her cum laude medical degree in 1985. Dr. Castellano remained at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals to complete her residency and fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1989.Dr. Castellano has served on a variety of boards and committees within the Emory Healthcare system. From 1997-2001, she served on the Board of Directors for the Foundation of Medically Fragile Children. Since 2002, she has been an Honorary Board Member of the organization.Dr. Castellano is an accomplished speaker who has lectured on a variety of women’s health topics around the country. She teaches medical students and residents at Emory, and enjoys developing methods to enhance patient education.
