Considered a pioneer and world leader in vascular surgery, Dr. Chuter currently serves as the Director of the Endovascular Surgery Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Prior to joining UCSF, he fulfilled several academic positions throughout the nation and the world including Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York; and Lund University, Sweden.Dr. Chuter earned his Bachelor degree and Doctor of Medicine at Nottingham University Medical School, Nottingham, England. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. He is currently certified with the American Board of Surgery with additional qualifications in surgical critical care and vascular surgery.He is an active member of numerous professional medical societies, including the Society of University Surgeons, American Association for Vascular Surgery and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe. Winner of several research honors and awards, Dr. Chuter continues to be enthusiastically involved in research and education.Dr. Chuter has participated in over 100 international workshops and lectureships and has written or co-authored over 75 publications.
