A nationally recognized expert in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Kopecky has particular expertise in acute coronary syndromes, atrial fibrillation and prevention of strokes. Additionally, he has been the principal investigator for numerous cardiovascular clinical trials, with primary focuses on coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes. He has been awarded many research grants on cardiovascular topics. Dr. Kopecky was previously the Co-Director of the Coronary Care Unit of the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic and the Medical Director for the Mayo Alliance for Clinical Trials.
Dr. Kopecky has authored or co-authored more than 75 publications related to cardiac and cardiovascular conditions, including articles in Intensive Care Medicine, the American Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery, and cardiology. He has also written several book chapters and editorials.

Dr. Kopecky is also an international speaker on many cardiovascular topics.
