Faster than a Plane, PinnacleCare Secured Our Daughter’s MedicationOur college-age daughter planned to visit family friends during her break. Upon returning from the airport we discovered that she had forgotten to pack medications that were essential for her long flight and vacation. I knew if she did not take her medication in the next 17 hours, she could experience major side effects. I didn’t know what to do. That’s when I called the PinnacleCare Advocate on-call number. The PinnacleCare Advocate answered my call right away. I explained to her the situation and told her that my daughter would only have a little over an hour layover in Florida, between connections before her international flight left. The PinnacleCare Advocate did not hesitate for a moment and immediately laid out a plan of action. She told me she would call me to keep me informed of her progress. She noted that the worst case scenario would be that medications would have to be secured at her final destination. Her first call back to us was to confirm that she was able to call in a 10-day emergency prescription to a Miami pharmacy. She called again to confirm that she had arranged for a Miami car service to pick up and deliver the medication. Additionally she was able to prevail on the car service to pay for the prescription medications because the pharmacy would not accept charges over the phone. Despite the Advocate’s confidence it seemed futile to believe the medication would get to my daughter before her plane departed. The prospects for success seemed slim when my daughter called me to say she had boarded the flight, the doors were closed, and the craft, crew and passengers were awaiting push back. Somehow, miraculously, the PinnacleCare advocate convinced the airline supervisors to hold the plane, (it was just a few minutes), allowing the medications to be delivered securely to my daughter in person! Needless to say, I was more than thrilled, relieved and so impressed that the PinnacleCare emergency Advocate went to such lengths to ensure our daughter’s health and safety. I cannot image any other service providing such immediate, professional and caring service. Our Advocate’s quick thinking and proactive response is why I am glad our family has a PinnacleCare membership. |
