A PinnacleCare Advocate received a call from her Member as she was traveling to PinnacleCare’s office in Chicago, Illinois. The call was from a Member who had suffered a fall several weeks ago and had since experienced continued and unrelenting pain in her hand. Although X-Rays were previously taken, ruling out a fracture, she was still unable to bend two of the fingers in her hand and was in constant discomfort.

In an attempt to handle the situation on her own, she made calls to several orthopedic physicians that she knew in her area. However, she was told by all of them that they could not take her as a patient. She then called her PinnacleCare Advocate.

PinnacleCare was able to obtain a consult and exam with one of the area’s top hand orthopedists for the Member within the hour. The physician’s office was located only five minutes from the Member’s home!

The Member was thrilled to get such a quick response and an immediate appointment.
