A PinnacleCare Member reached the six-month mark after surgery to remove a tumor. The Member had traveled far from his home to receive the surgery at a top-ranked cancer center. Following the surgery, the Member’s PinnacleCare Advocate arranged for the Member to see the preeminent oncologist in his home state at this, his six-month follow-up date.
The CT-scan at his post-surgery appointment, according to the oncologist, revealed some activity in the same area of his previous tumor and he recommended that the Member schedule an appointment with his surgeon right away.
The PinnacleCare Advocate promised her Member that she would get back to him with a solution that day. She made a call to a PinnacleCare contact at the Cancer Center to explain her Member’s urgent situation and request an appointment as soon as possible. She was able to obtain an appointment on the day and time that the Member preferred with his surgeon, specialist and a radiation oncologist. The Advocate then proceeded to schedule the appointments back-to-back to ensure the highest level of convenience for her Member.
