It was the close of business on a Friday evening, one of our Regional Directors of Member Services, received an urgent call from one of her Members. The PinnacleCare Advocate immediately detected the anxiety in her Member’s voice as she described her family’s time-sensitive medical issue. The Members had not been successful in their attempts to schedule their own appointment with a top specialist and reached out to PinnacleCare.

The Advocate immediately got on the phone with the right contact at Cedar Sinai Hospital and explained her Member’s situation to this busy administrator at the prestigious hospital, the West Coast’s leading Center of Excellence. Dr. Miles Varn, PinnacleCare Chief Medical Officer, had met with this same contact the week before and his face-to-face meeting proved valuable. The contact willingly provided the Advocate with her cell phone number so that they could keep in touch over the weekend.

The Advocate continued to work with Cedar Sinai over the weekend and she was able to facilitate an appointment for the Members on Monday with a highly regarded specialist.
