Considered a pioneer and world leader in vascular surgery, Dr. Chuter currently serves as the Director of the Endovascular Surgery Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He designed and created the first bifurcated stent-graft for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, the first modular system for endovascular repair of an aortic arch aneurysm, and the first modular system for bilateral iliac aneurysms. He was also the first to succeed in endovascular repair of an inflammatory aneurysm, an aorta-bronchial fistula and a thoracoabdominal aneurysm.
Prior to joining UCSF, Dr. Chuter held positions at several academic institutions including Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York; and Lund University, Sweden.
He is an active member of numerous professional medical societies, including the Society of University Surgeons, American Association for Vascular Surgery and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe. As the winner of several research honors and awards, as well as the author of over 130 journal publications, Dr. Chuter continues to be enthusiastically involved in research and education.Complete Medical Advisory Board List
