Kari Nadeau, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.A.A.I.
Dr. Kari Nadeau is one of the country’s leading experts in adult and pediatric allergies. Her clinical interests focus on food allergies, while her research examines the mechanisms behind food allergies and drug development.
In 1995, Dr. Nadeau received her M.D. and Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School. She then went on to residency training in pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital; followed by specialization in allergy, asthma, and immunology during her fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. She then became the Medical Director of Stanford’s Allergy and Immunology Clinics and a member of the Packard Children’s Hospital Faculty. In this position she was the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Pediatric Research Award of the Child Health Research Program at Stanford University School of Medicine and the Parker B. Francis Award from the Francis Family Foundation.
Dr. Nadeau has also been granted a Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Institutes of Health and a STAR Grant Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These awards are devoted to ongoing research in her lab at Stanford; which includes trials investigating oral immunotherapy for food allergies, regulatory T-cells, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
In addition to the above studies, Dr. Nadeau’s research has been published in many peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals including Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, and Journal of Clinical Immunology. She also frequently presents nationally and internationally at medical conferences and meetings focusing on immunology advancement. Dr. Nadeau also serves as volunteer clinical faculty at the Menlo Park, California Veteran’s Administration.
