After struggling with recurrent cervical cancer for more than a decade Rita reached out to PinnacleCare for support when she became frustrated and too overwhelmed to continue managing her care.

Her Health Advisor worked with Rita and her family to answer questions and guide her through multiple treatment strategies recommended by her provider team. When physicians declined to perform surgery because they didn’t believe it would be effective, Rita and her family didn’t lose hope because of PinnacleCare’ s tenacity. The PinnacleCare team found Rita a top gynecological surgical oncologist who confirmed the surgery had a chance at success and was able to schedule her surgery.

While the surgery was difficult to perform-- requiring the need to bring in a leading vascular surgeon for assistance-- , it was successful and followed by three rounds of chemotherapy. Rita’s Health Advisor was there every step of the way, continually checking in on Rita to provide guidance and reassurance, and even joining Rita for her CT scan where her doctor announced there was no sign of the tumor!
